The challenge is that sunlight patterns change throughout the year. A spot that looks bright in early spring may receive far less sun during the peak growing months, while another area that seems shaded at one time might actual receive the most total sunlight over the course of the day. To truly understand how sunlight moves across a property, you would need to observe it across multiple seasons, often close to a year, before you could confidently decide where to place a garden.

This assessment shortens that process dramatically. By modeling the sun’s path across your property throughout the year, it reveals the areas most likely to support a productive kitchen garden now, rather than after several seasons of trial and error.

For many gardeners- especially those working with small or partially shaded yards- this clarity makes the difference between struggling plants and a garden that truly thrives.
